Salvation Army Kettle Attendant

Description: The Salvation Army is launching our 2016 Christmas Kettle Campaign and is currently asking for community volunteers to help staff our kettles. If you would like to make a difference to thousands of individuals and families in our community we would like to hear from you. We have 16 kettle location across Kingston in local stores and businesses and the shifts are 2 hours and operate between Nov 18th and Dec 24th, generally 10-8pm every day except for Sunday, shifts are 2 hours in length. This is a great way to build your resume skills, contribute to your community and if you are a student it is ideal for community hours. Health City Ontario - Kingston

Description: Health City is a first of its kind health fair happening in Kingston on November 22nd, 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Health City is a free event, and will offer the community an opportunity to engage with health education booths, attend question and answer sessions with specialists, and listen to discussions and debates on critical issues facing our health care today. The event will also highlight Bill 41, the so called "Patients First Act", and help attendees take action against the controversial legislature. We are looking for volunteers to work a minimum three hour shift between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22nd. If you are interested in joining our team we would love to have you! Golf Cart Shuttle Driver

Description: Volunteers will work 4 hour or 8 hour shifts. Volunteer will be required to drive a gas powered 6-person golf cart around the event site. Duties will include picking up guests in the parking area and shuttling them to the event area. Picking up guests in the event area and shuttling them to the car park. Volunteers will be able to provide general information regarding the event. Volunteer should be friendly and courteous. Experience driving a golf cart would be beneficial.

Surveyor

Organization: City of Kingston

Description: Volunteers will walk about the event site asking pre-written questions. Shifts will begin at 8:00 a.m. daily. Volunteers can work either a 4 hour or 8 hour shift. Volunteers should be outgoing, work well independently. Exercise courtesy and professionalism. No prior experience required.

Information Tent/Tattoo Parlor

Description: Six (6) shifts to fill, 2 per day. Volunteers will man the information tent, and answer general questions regarding the event, hand out programs, maps and engage guests in taking our survey. New this year - get your Sesqui Centennial Tattoo. Volunteers with help children put on temporary tattoos, replenish the supply, fill spray bottles with water and keep the area clean and tidy. If you like helping people, are friendly and outgoing this is a great opportunity for you.

Gate Attendant

Description: Twenty-four (24) shifts to fill, 8 shifts per day. We are looking for authoritative gate attendants who would be responsible for checking for wrist bands at the entrance to the event and ensuring no one enters the event site without a wrist band. If you find yourself to emanate authority this would be the perfect role for you.

Photo Booth Attendant

Description: Twelve (12) shifts to fill, 4 per day. This year we will be having a photo booth where you and your furry friend(s) can take pictures with fun props. We need a volunteer to take the pictures for the photo booth, and a person to man the props. If you love photography, this would be the role for you.

Pet Fahsion Show Registrar

Description: Three (3) shifts to fill. Friday morning and afternoon shifts and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. This year the City of Kingston will be putting on a Pet Fashion Show at the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials. A Black Tail Affair. The show will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m. and registration will be open Friday and Saturday until show time. This role would entail signing pet owners up for the show by filling out the registration form with basic information provided by the pet owner. If you are well organized, you would be great in this role.
