Opportunity Description:

Love the arts? Volunteer at the Isabel! Play an important role with the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts team as a volunteer. Meet great people, gain experience and knowledge, and contribute to the arts! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to act as ushers, greeters, and coat check attendants at performances and events. Time Commitment: Will vary, but applicants should be able to work a minimum of 2 to 4 volunteer shifts each month, plus, mandatory training on Saturday, 9 September 2023, from 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM.   Perks: Volunteers will be given the opportunity to watch performances whenever possible while working and will be invited to attend Isabel volunteer socials.   Flexibility and Enthusiasm: Volunteers need to be flexible with the duties they perform on shift, be cheerful and welcoming in disposition, be able to take direction well, and use their best judgment to make patrons feel properly assisted and welcomed during their visits.   Volunteers: Are Ambassadors for the Isabel Have knowledge of the Isabel season performances Greet and assist patrons Take tickets and seat patrons Enforce Isabel policies in a professional and courteous manner Familiarity of the building and our events/programming Assist with safe evacuation in case of emergency Lead tours   Volunteers will have: Customer service experience or experience working with community groups in a public setting Previous volunteer experience A passion for the arts and the programming at the Isabel Basic computer skills and ability to regularly receive and respond to emails Problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and be as a team player Friendly, approachable, positive disposition, and strong communication skills   How to Apply   Volunteer Application Deadline: Sunday, 9 July 2023, at 11:59 PM.   Please submit a brief resume detailing your past volunteer and work history pertinent to this position, and a brief cover letter detailing the following information: Your interest in working at the Isabel as well as your pertinent skills, qualities, and additional experience that you would bring to the performing arts centre   Your contact information, including phone and email address   Please submit a MAXIMUM 2-page application as a single PDF in an email addressed to: IsabelVolunteer@queensu.ca   Please address the subject line as:  Volunteer 2023/24 – Your Name   Note: Applications that do not follow these instructions will not be considered.   The Isabel thanks all applicants for their interest.
