Vision Mate volunteers provide sighted assistance to a person who is blind or partially sighted. Activities may include reading, organizing things around the home, walking, assisting with errands, or heading on an outing or social visit. Vision Mate volunteer are not expected to drive, clean, cook or provide personal care for the participant. Scheduling is very flexible, so long as visit times are mutually convenient for both the volunteer and the client. We look to match you with someone who lives close to you so travel isn’t too far. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the life of an individual who is blind or partially sighted.
