Opportunity Description:

We’re the Clinical Education Centre and part of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. At our Centre, volunteers from the community participate in health related interviews with our students, allowing the students to learn, practice and hone their history taking abilities before graduation. On Thursday, May 12 and Friday, May 13, our Physical Therapy students will be participating in virtual interview sessions in the afternoon with community members who are living with Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s. Might you be interested in teaching our students? Volunteers normally enjoy the social aspect of interacting with the students and students benefit from learning about the volunteers experiences living with their condition. The only requirement is that you are willing to participate and share your story. The interviews will run on Zoom from 3:15 – 4:30 PM on Thursday, May 12 (MS) and 2:30 – 3:30 PM on Friday, May 13 (Parkinson’s). Each person would be asked to engage with a group of five students during each session. We will follow up with anyone interested with all of the pertinent details: Email us at hscelp@queensu.ca Give us a call at 613-533-6000 x 78087. Thanks very much for interest!
