Opportunity Description:

Overview: We are seeking individuals to volunteer as scorekeepers for the 2024 Ontario Boccia Championships. Boccia is a precision ball sport similar to bocce and lawn bowling, designed specifically for athletes with disabilities. As a scorekeeper, you will play a crucial role in ensuring fair play and accurate recording of scores throughout the tournament. Location: Slush Puppie Place, 1 The Tragically Hip Way, Kingston Times: Saturday Aug 10, 9am-7pm Sunday Aug 11, 9am-4pm Responsibilities: Scorekeeping: Keep accurate track of scores for each match using provided scoresheets and iPad application. Training will be provided on site. Assist Officials: Willingness to work collaboratively with the tournament officials on court as needed. This may include ball retrieval or acting as a lines person. Problem Solving: Address any discrepancies or issues that may arise during matches in a timely manner, seeking guidance from tournament officials when necessary. All volunteer scorekeepers that volunteer for full days will receive lunch. Majority of the role will be seated. Volunteers will also be provided a t-shirt.
