Community Friend is a befriending program where volunteers are typically matched one on one but couples and families can be matched too. Volunteers are matched with someone who has an intellectual disability, based on mutual interests and availability, preferences and compatibility. Examples include going to movies/theatre, bowling, watching local sporting events, shopping, joining a club or group together, etc. Volunteers will need a police background check with a vulnerable sector search (we will reimburse after meeting) and have 2 Covid vaccines. Occasionally we have other positions as well as Community Friend.
