Cystic Fibrosis Canada is a national charitable not-for-profit corporation established in 1960, and is one of the world’s top three charitable organizations committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). As an internationally recognized leader in funding innovation and clinical care, we invest more in life-saving CF research and care than any other non-governmental agency in Canada. Cystic Fibrosis is the most fatal genetic disease in Canada, impacting over 4,200 Canadians. People with Cystic Fibrosis must adhere to a strict infection control policies which means they cannot connect to others with the disease indoors. Despite this unique obstacle, we have an incredible community. We are recruiting a volunteer to help us continue to build strong communities while raising awareness and funds for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. ROLE: The Chapter Engagement Coordinator is responsible for identifying and securing that can help us funding opportunities, public awareness events, community awareness in order to continue to grow our local chapter. WHAT WE OFFER: Leadership opportunity with potential to grow within the organization A community of support and a dedicated staff partner An opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people loving and living with CF Use and grow professional skills in fundraising, marketing, and volunteer management skills Expand your network Be a part of the momentum as we continue to be world leaders and work towards making Cystic Fibrosis History PRIMARY DUTIES Drive community and volunteer engagement Build and steward and relationships with new and existing volunteers Help recruit, screen and support volunteers for committees and events Network and Grow Revenue opportunity Collaborate with Chapter volunteers on planning, execution and growth of new and existing chapter events to increase revenue Work with chapter volunteers and regional staff to develop sponsorship proposals Work with chapter volunteers and event committees to develop media, marketing, materials and photo opportunities to raise awareness Ability to network and work as a resourceful leader RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED TASKS: Build relationships: establishes and maintains positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of Cystic Fibrosis Canada Communicate effectively: speaks, listens and writes in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques Creativity and innovation: develops new and unique ways to improve operations of the chapter to create new opportunities, Organized; sets priorities, develops a work schedule, monitors progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities, Conflict Resolution: Assesses problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generates possible solutions, and makes recommendations and/or resolve the problem COMMITMENT: Motivated and enthusiastic for the CF cause, knowledge of Cystic Fibrosis Canada policies and procedures including our Infection Control Policy, Code of Conduct, and Privacy Guidelines Fulfills minimum a one-year term (maximum of three consecutive one-year terms); Attends Chapter meetings; Participates in chapter activities and/or committees (as needed).
