Opportunity Description:

Program Assistant  -Do you enjoy activities such as arts and crafts, board games, puzzles physical games such as bean bag toss, and intellectual such as Trivia? In the Program Assistant position, you would be helping Recreation staff run such programs. The type of help you would provide is postering residents to the program, and assisting residents to participate in programs. Your impact would help improve the quality of life of the residents in Arbour Heights. Recreational programs provide meaning and purpose to a resident’s day and recreation programs have therapeutic benefits.   The skill set required to be a good fit for this volunteer role is:  Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills  Effective communication   Willingness to learn  Positive attitude   Time commitment is flexible and both short-term or long-term. Your schedule can be discussed and mutually agreed upon on an individual basis.     Training will consist of a 1-day orientation and additional training maybe be available free of cost depending on the availability of training slots.    Volunteers would work alongside recreation staff who would provide guidance and supervision.
