Opportunity Description:

The Clinical Education Centre and part of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. At our centre, volunteers from the community participate in health related interviews with our students, allowing the students to learn, practice and hone their history taking abilities before graduation. On Friday, March 25, our Nurse Practitioner students will be participating in an in person interactive session with community members and their children. The Nurses will be conducting a pediatric assessment which could include listening to heart and lung sounds, observing the children play, assessing muscle tone and more. This is a non-invasive physical assessment. There are 8 – 9 NP students per group that will be working with their clinical instructor to conduct these assessments. The sessions will run at the Clinical Education Centre (CEC) located at 31 George Street. We have spots open both morning and afternoon. Please contact us if you’re interested in participating and we can give you the session timing. Parking will be provided on a first come, first served basis at the Centre. To confirm participation or if you have any questions, please contact the CEC at hscelp@queensu.ca or by calling 613-533-6000 x78087.
