Opportunity Description:

Provide legal advice and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to corporate governance, intellectual property, contracts, employment, and tax matters Ensure the organization’s compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including applicable state and federal laws, and monitor changes in relevant legal frameworks Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, and advise the organization on potential legal risks and implications Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures, and provide training to staff and volunteers on legal matters as needed Manage relationships with external legal counsel and advise on the selection and management of outside counsel when necessary Represent the organization in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation, and coordinate with external counsel as necessary Review and advise on fundraising activities, grant applications, and donor agreements to ensure compliance with legal requirements Conduct legal research and provide written and verbal opinions on legal issues affecting the organization Collaborate with other departments, including finance and development, to ensure legal compliance and to support the organization’s overall mission and goals
