The Friends of the Penitentiary Museum not-for-profit organization is seeking new volunteer Board members to actively participate in Board functions and be willing to undertake ad hoc projects on occasion. The Board is comprised of up to eleven members, including President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Gift Shop Manager and Directors-at-Large. The Friends organization works in partnership with Correctional Service of Canada to help run Canada’s Penitentiary Museum. The Friends also raise funds, through various activities, for the exclusive benefit of the Museum. The organization also promotes the continuing development of the Museum, community awareness and marketing of the Museum, and broadening our support base. We are looking for people who are interested in being part of a team, will share our enthusiasm for the Museum & its operation, and will undertake projects that help the Museum. Experience with a museum setting is not necessary, but an interest in history is beneficial. If you have any questions or are interested in standing for nomination to the Board, please contact us by email at info@penitentiarymuseum.ca by Saturday October 26 2023. In the Subject line, please note “Board of Directors”. Warm regards and thank you for your interest!
