The Kingston School of Art (KSOA) is a non-profit charitable organization. Formed in 1994 and governed by a community-based volunteer Board of Directors, KSOA is supported by fundraising, student fees, donations and grants. Its mission is to provide cost-effective year-round art classes, have studio-based hands-on instruction and provide practical artistic experiences. Through the creation of an inclusive and supportive environment, KSOA art space encourages artistic individuality and innovation, as well as cultivates an appreciation of the arts within the greater community. KSOA also runs the Window Art Gallery (WAG), a non-profit volunteer run community art gallery which was established in May 2011. Treasurer The Treasurer, a voluntary KSOA Board Member, is responsible for the financial activities of the Kingston School of Art and Window Art Gallery. Specifically, the Treasurer is responsible for completing, or directing others to complete, the following tasks: Regular bank deposits to the KSOA account with the Kingston Community Credit Union Issue cheques for all expenses Be a signatory on cheques Reconcile bank accounts, Square and Paypal accounts at the end of each month Produce financial report for monthly Board meetings Conduct a budget review half-way through the fiscal year, i.e. end of September Work with auditor in the production of annual Financial Statements and adjust entries in Quickbooks as provided by the accountant at the same time as production of financial statements Present Financial Report and budget for the next year at the AGM Maintain records of all accounts & passwords with regards to financial account & programs Prepare and file Kingston property tax rebate form Issue tax receipts for donations Prepare and file Charities Return within 6 months of year end (March 31) Prepare and file the semi-annual HST rebate application Complete CRA application for subsidies, when applicable Maintain financial records for the number of years required by the CRA Please send letter of interest to: Applicants@ksoa.info
