Cystic Fibrosis Canada is a national charitable not-for-profit corporation established in 1960, and is one of the world’s top three charitable organizations committed to finding a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF). Cystic Fibrosis is a fatal genetic disease impacting over 4,200 Canadians. People with Cystic Fibrosis must adhere to a strict infection control policies which means they cannot connect to others with the disease indoors. Despite this social isolation, we are working hard to create an online community to combat this. We are looking for a volunteer to help work with us to create a successful online community while managing our unique audience. ROLE: The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the creation of local content and updating all social media and occasionally other media outlets for the Chapter. They will also be responsible for measuring success in this area, and posting the latest Chapter announcements, news and events. This role will also require some event attendance due to the nature of needing to capture photos at the events for social media. Actively identifies and maintains a committee of volunteers who can assist with various social media initiatives as determined by the chapter; Supports the National and Regional Communications teams by reposting National & Regional updates and stories; Compiles regular statistics to be shared with the Chapter, and Regional staff; Ensures that all social media postings meet the Cystic Fibrosis Canada guidelines.
