Opportunity Description:

Best Buddies Canada is a national registered charity that promotes inclusion by creating lasting one-to-one friendships between individuals living with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD and Autism Spectrum Disorder). In the United States, Best Buddies Friendship Walks are the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with IDD. The walks play a key role in funding the Best Buddies programs dedicated to developing friendships, leadership development, and integrated job opportunities for people with IDD. The walks are held at 70 locations across the globe and are attended by 50,000 participants.  In Canada, we are excited to begin piloting our first Friendship Walk in Kingston and Michaels, the Arts and Crafts Store in Kingston, will be a partner on it. Volunteers must be located in Kingston, ON, and be available tentatively on September 29th, 2024 between 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM. Volunteers will support set-up, tear down, and other tasks during the event.
