Opportunity Description:

Girls Inc. Limestone inspires all girls to be strong, smart and bold through the delivery of dynamic, life-changing programs designed specifically to meet the needs of girls and young women. We are a growing non-profit organization serving more than 1,600 girls and young women in Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Hastings and Prince Edward Counties each year. More information about Girls Inc. can be found on our website at www.girlsinclimestone.ca. We are currently accepting applications for volunteers to join our Fund Development Committee. This is a one-year, part-time position commencing at our next Fund Development meeting (meetings usually occur 1-2 times per month). The successful candidate will become a member of the Fund Development Committee, taking the lead on 1-2 fundraisers and aiding with all other fundraising events and activities performed by the committee. Tasks will be management-focused, interesting, relevant and varied, and will include work on the following key projects: • Managing 1-2 fundraisers with the help of the fund development committee • Booking facilities and catering • Advertising and marketing fundraisers • Hiring/managing volunteers for fundraisers • Aiding in the planning and implementation of fundraisers managed by other committee members Eligibility Requirements: • Successful completion of a CPIC including vulnerable sector check (this can be attained after the interview has taken place). • Education in the areas of business or gender-related studies is an asset, however, we are looking for candidates with the experience and passion to get involved! Qualifications and Experience: In addition to the eligibility requirements, we are seeking candidates with the following skills and/or experience: • Advanced computer application skills – experience using all Microsoft Office and social media applications • Strong organizational skills, able to be self-directed and to prioritize multiple demands • Proven ability to produce high quality, accurate and time-sensitive results • Proven ability to lead projects, working with team members to achieve results • Effective marketing and communication expertise, both written and verbal • Personable and team oriented • Comfortable and competent public speaker • Prior work or volunteer experience with event-planning is an asset • Valid driver’s licence and car are assets How to Apply: Please send your resume and cover letter by email to melaniemcdougall@girlsinclimestone.ca.
